Black Clover Has The Cringiest Characters…

AEROKAGE🗡 here. I’d like to talk about one of my new found favorite #BlackClover :four_leaf_clover: and it’s strange set of characters. I do love this anime and all its assets but I definitely wanted to give my opinion on these freaks. :joy: I’ll be giving ratings as well.

Sekke Bronzazza🥴

🤦 BRO IM SICK OF HIM! :joy: Sekke was always a strange character to me but he always stood out because he’s a comic relief character. No one takes him seriously and I don’t think he takes himself seriously either lmao. The “HAHA’s” get less & less funnier as the story progresses & it’s really cringey! I get it complaints that he’s just a joke character but he ruins so many great moments with his presence and can be extremely annoying to read & watch about. Sekke has arrogance like no other and it’s hard to tell which side he’s on most of the time. Yet another fool who thought he was better than Asta and ended up a real joker of the series. Characters like this do make the series more interesting I’ll tell you that. I guess he really is just the biggest joke. HAHA!

Charmy Pappitson :poultry_leg:

I tried & tried to like this character but damn all she do is eat & make goofy noises. Her little chibi act is interesting but I think she’s a little too annoying for my taste. I do however think Charmy is strong in her own way and her powers are so dope & useful. Having her food that restores magic power to her friends is very cool and I’m glad they gave her that ability. Charmy is loud like Sekke and she is a Black Bull so of course she’s gonna be a little odd. I think she has a cool appearance and has said some funny things though. She’s definitely a half and half character to me. Like an ehh 🤷 . At least she’s stronger than most of the Black bulls & characters in the magic knights. She ain’t charming me tho..

Gordon Agrippa☠

Yet another Black Bull & this one isn’t as loud as the rest. In fact, this one whispers! I have initially thought Gordon was going to be one of those characters who makes a big comeback and bursts out of his shell into a new improved character, but NO! Gordon will always be weird Gordon, mumbling and all that. I do think Gordon has nice powers though and can cast some dope spells. That poison magic definitely is a force to be reckoned with and actually useful. I don’t think it’s more useful then some of his peers magic on the team, but for him it’s a win. Idk 🤷 I guess they wanted to make him a funny creepy character as well but it’s just so cringey and I try to ignore him anytime he’s on the screen. Sorry Gordon fans, but this guy ain’t cookin up shit. Gordon Ramsey :-1: :joy:

Noelle Silva :droplet: 🤬

Noelle. Cool for a character name. The word we hear only during Christmas time & the holidays. But ain’t nothing joyous about this brat. :joy: :joy: Now I do actually like Noelle but her attitude is so unbearable. We all kno it’s the theme to have the royals of the series to be snobby but she takes that to a wholeeee other level. The biggest factor that sort of turns me away from her is her obsession with Asta. There is nothing wrong with a crush but she makes it her whole personality added on with the rude attitude. I like her powers of being able to control water at will and cast tremendous spells, but it seems the writers put more focus on her beating down then her actual purpose of being a knight. Throughout the story she becomes more mature and progresses though so I’m glad to see she wasn’t completely ruined. Royalty can’t fix the attitude.

Gauche Adlai🪞 :girl: 🏼

This is the last Black Bull I will mention & he’s the creepiest one yet! Firstly, this sister obsession that he has is what makes this show THE MOST cringe at times. They say Asta is annoying but hell no. Compared to Gauche, he’s the best. Gauche from the beginning stated how much he has a weird obsession with his little sister Marie and it’s so sick. It’s not funny. Even with the backstory of his past I still can’t be a fan of Gauche. Gauche has a unique magic ability which lets him reflect attacks with his mirror spells. I think the concept of that power is fitting with the series because it’s such a medieval, knights and olde Irish type of series. So mirrors 🪞 and all that are quite fitting. Sadly, Gauche is not and this series would certainly be better off without him. I’m still cringing! Some call child protective services immediately!

Augustus Kira Clover XIII🤴

The clover king himself! Who the hell would have thought HA-HA. This dude is more of a threat to the series than he is a threat to his own kingdom. This guy is terrible as a character and a leader and we all know Wizard King Julius will always be most fitted for the job. Augustus has a very lazy, snobby & annoying personality. All his character wants it’s to be in the spotlight for accolades and behind closed doors when shit breaks lose! It was definitely intentional that the writers wanted to make his character a foolish king so that Julius keeps his rightful place as the goat but this king is no king at all. To me he’s more of a filler character but sometimes it’s funny when he gets angry angry and SHOOK. The jester wearing a crown.

Langris Vaude :unamused: :bangbang:

I honestly like the guy 🤷 well halfway at least. I think Langris is a good rival for Finral and great sort of antagonist. I think his character is cool in the aspect of pushin the other black bulls to be stronger, especially his brother Finral. But, of course his ego and instability play a factor to why he is deemed unlikeable. I don’t think Langris is a poorly written character. I think he has a good depth and understanding in the series which I liked to see. He is the rival that Yuno will never be to Asta and seeing that contrast was amazingly. But he definitely needs a chill pill! ASAP. *GUARDS!

Now before I get into the bad, let me actually start positive for once. Sally is one of the crazed pawns of Licht’s “Eye of the midnight Sun” organization. Sally is a mad scientist who loves to get her hands on anything she can experiment on. The idea that she loves science and is actually gifted with it is dope and you can’t go wrong with mad scientist character. I love her salamander slug creation magic too. BUT! Not only is she crazy but she’s extremely obsessive with dissecting everyone. I feel she could be a better character if she wasn’t too cringe but I do think her irritability makes her a great antagonist. It’s like you want to see her get defeated because she won’t shut up. Sorry Miss Einstein, but you ain’t dissecting shit today!

Another cocky character who’s hierarchy means more to him than feelings. As soon as I saw this character in the anime, I need he was going to be unlikeable. His arrogance speaks volumes and he definitely wanted control over the kingdom for himself. I like his power to judgment with the scale to reduce a foes magic though. That’s yet another creative way to bring out a characters nature through their ability and I just have to applaud the Black Clover writers on that one. Unfortunately, this guy was hating on Asta so hard and Asta has so many haters bro I swear lmao. Short dude can never catch a break. So let me judgement this time, ON HIM! :boom:

”Annoying” Asta 🗡🗣

Okay so I lied we do have the final Black Bull but he’s also the main character so I wanted to save him for last. Also, let me clarify why I said “Annoying Asta”. Asta does have any annoying side to him due to the constant screaming he does every episode. He relates to Bakugo so much in that aspect & that’s the sole reason Bakugo could never work as a main character lol. He also reminds me of Zenitsu from #Demonslayer as well. But anyway, Asta can be very obnoxious to watch on screen and his yelling was definitely supposed to make us fans laugh but it got old…FAST. I had to list him because after asking fellow friends and people on Amino, they say that he is the main reason why Black Clover is unbearable. The main character himself. I don’t think it’s that bad to where it’s ruined my liking of the series, but I can agree that it isn’t so pleasant to listen to ALL the time. But cmon, we all love Asta and I think he’s an excellent protagonist who built his success from the ground up. Asta is a good natured character who wears his heart on his sleeve. Born with no powers. His magic ain’t giving up & neither are we on him :muscle: 🏻

In the end, this is not a blog I made to rant. I created it because I thought it would be fun and I felt a lot of people could relate to what I was speaking about. None of these are a dealbreaker to me and I’ve grown fond of all these characters in the series in my own way. I think the Black Clover series is a masterpiece in so many aspects like storytelling, character designs, theme and power scaling. I’m a huge fan and was glad that a few friends of mine recommended this anime to me. This is definitely a series I will buy the DVD of when the complete series one gets released. I just love how this anime stands out and the magic aesthetic of it all. The series is so comical and fun and I think everyone who loves anime should give it a try. Characters should never be a dealbreaker for anyone! I hope everyone enjoys it & if you haven’t seen it, give it a watch!
