Why Do Anime Fans Love Characters Like Mash?

ᵃʸᵒᵒᵒᵒAEROKAGE🗡 here with another bulky blog on a series that I’ve come to know and love, #Mashle 🪄 🏋This series came up highly recommended so I gave it a shot awhile back & it didn’t disappoint. Mash to me was a very interesting character from the start. Right of the bat, Mash’s appearance definitely resembles a few anime characters from the past and you’d think he’d just be a carbon copy of them. *Coughs Mushroom cut like Mob. Mash gives off a standoffish, aloof, muscle head vibe and it was kind of hard to read his character at first. Mash doesn’t say much and when he does, his responses are usually dense. Mash has a dry comedic factor about him because of how dense he is, especially in dangerous situations. The series follows the plot of Mash being born without magic and makes up for it with unearthly strength & physique. Mash defies all magic with brute strength & psychical abilities. In order to keep staying with gramps & not get turned into the society for having no magic, Mash enters a prestigious magic school in hopes of becoming a Divine Visionary(Ace students said to be chosen & excel at all). Mash meets many interesting characters along his way & never seems to have to change his personality or likes to move up in the school. Just how does a character who seems pretty straightforward get so much hype & applause? Can’t be the cream puffs, can it?

                          ₊ ⊹𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

Some might say Mash is fitness goals to them! Some might say that Mash’s routine is too vigorous to follow lol. As someone who enjoys an active lifestyle of trying to stay fit & is always looking for motivation, it’s crazy to see how anime characters can push you to go extra harder when working out lol. Mash is a tank & everyone is threatened by his superior strength. Mash picks up dumbbells like they are twigs. I love how all these Villains in the series act like Mash is so inferior to them because of what he lacks & he just beats the shit out of them lol. Always being calm in the face of opposition is something we all strive to achieve. I’ve seen many people follow a Mash fitness inspired regime and diet lol. You can’t become an anime character but it is cool to push yourself past your own limitations. People view Mash as motivational and people who may not have seen anime before get inspired by characters like Mash. Anime gets a bad rep for being “weird” and I’ll it it can be, but once you get into it, it could really influence you in some way you wouldn’t even expect. So the next time you hit the gym on your last set or running your mile, to finish it & go harder because MASH WOULD :muscle: 🏻

𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃₊ ⊹

Mash may be recklessness & muscle, but the guy also has mad heart. Who wouldn’t want to have someone like Mash as a friend? We know that almost every protagonist in action anime fight to protect the ones they love & would risk their lives doing it. Mash being Mash has to is humble aura with him always because he knows what he lacks. Compared to others in his realm of magic, Mash is the outcast. Knowing that he’s the outcast, Mash wouldn’t do anything to anyone or try to look down on anyone. Anyone that is a friend to him, is how he treats them back. Mash has been secluded from the world and many can relate to the feeling of loneliness by choice or not. Mash may seem awkward and weird but it’s because all his experiences are new, everything for him is a new endeavor. With that dense ignorance comes people who try & take advantage of that aspect of him. With each of the friends Mash has picked up along his journey, they all were skeptical of him at first but later learned just how important & special Mash was because he was different. Being different is okay. I just like how the author didn’t make the relationships in this series feel forced or corny & you really see Mash have to work & struggle for everything but ultimately dosent let it stop him.

                                ₊ ⊹𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓...

Mash is the biggest threat in the series and it’s just due to his unknown limit in strength & his truth destined worth. Since the beginning of the story , it was clear that the author wanted to foreshadow the true strength and worth of Mash and just how real shit will get the farther he climbs the mountain to his goal. Mash doesn’t care about titles & fame, Mash just wants to live life with his loved ones happily & the creampuffs :joy: . The dynamic of the fights in this series always intrigues me because we can almost always predict a victory for Mash but the “How” is what’s the fun part. You never know how Mash will pull off something in a fight and that’s one of my favorite part of the series. Mash’s unpredictable fighting style & ways of getting out of using magic are always genius. It’s top tier writing in the series. In a way, Mash reminds me of Ash Ketchum from the Pokémon series in of being unpredictable when faced with opposition & having a clever way to get out or become victorious in the situation. A truly remarkable written main character & he’s all the more intimidating when he chooses to be.

𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐇. 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐋𝐄: 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐂 & 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 🏋🪄

If you want a good main character with an interesting plot and cool manga, tune into Mashle. It’s on top right now and it’s only growing more in popularity. I have a whole list of anime to get into but I chose this one because the name alone sounded too outrageous :joy: . I gave some of my reasons why I love this series and Mash as a character. I’m sure most would agree that he’s better than the average MC, even though there’s a lot out there who may be similar to him. The whole magic trope has been used in anime for years, but it’s still cool to see how they continue to make fire series out of it. Anime nowadays requires a certain level of action, character designs & fan service to keep fans interested. I’ll always be a fan of a great story followed by some humor. Mash is a motivator, friend, dork & badass all wrapped into one hulk. I hope that this series continues & becomes greater from here on out. A new wave of anime has been ushered in for this era and Mashle is getting the hype it rightlfully deserves. The series has its flaws but overall it’s worth the watch in my opinion.
